Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and Boeung Ket will now face each other in the Hun Sen Cup semifinals after the domestic football calendar was reshuffled due to a fixture clash involving Svay Rieng’s ASEAN Club Championship campaign.

The adjustment was made following guidance from the executive secretary of the Cambodian National Competitions Committee. A technical working group later met with both clubs to coordinate the revised schedule and ensure the competitions continue smoothly without disruption.

After discussions, both sides agreed on new dates for the two-legged semifinal. The first leg will be played on April 29 at the Olympic National Stadium, kicking off at 6pm. The return leg is scheduled for May 20 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, setting up a decisive second meeting under the lights.

The change became necessary due to Svay Rieng’s commitments in the ASEAN Club Championship, also known as the Shopee Cup. The Cambodian champions are set to travel to Hanoi to face Bangkok United in their final group stage match on April 22 at Hang Day Stadium.

That match was originally planned for Phnom Penh in January, but was relocated after safety concerns were raised by the Thai club amid border tensions. The governing body eventually ruled that the fixture be held at a neutral venue.

Svay Rieng general manager Christopher Grant said the decision was beyond the club’s control. He explained that the club had submitted proposals and safety assurances in an effort to keep the match in Cambodia, but the request was not approved.
